Quickly Add a Flat File to Tableau

We at XeoMatrix have gathered a few tips & tricks that can make your Tableau development experience even more efficient. Today’s topic is: Quickly Add a Flat File to Tableau.

Tableau is able to quickly load flat files with a simple click and drag. Below, we have an empty example worksheet and an example flat file on our desktop.

Now, to add this file into your empty Tableau worksheet, all you have to do is click on your file, and drag it into the worksheet view, as shown below.

Once you have dragged your file over, you can let go. Tableau will then automatically load your data.

From this point, you can begin to customize your data visualization however you would like.
