The Tableau Community thrives on shared learning, thoughtful leadership, and meaningful collaboration. Instead of treating community work as a separate initiative, XeoMatrix integrates it into everyday analytics practice. The team approaches the ecosystem with curiosity, consistency, and a long-term mindset.

Across ambassador programs, Tableau User Groups, and technical leadership roles, XeoMatrix team members actively support the community. As a result, they help shape conversations around enablement, development, and the evolving role of analytics in modern decision-making.

Recognized Tableau Community Leadership

Community recognition often reflects sustained contribution rather than a single milestone. In 2025, Tableau named Cristian Saavedra, Senior Technical Principal, a Tableau Visionary, recognizing his influence in technical discussions and advanced development workflows. In addition, he serves as a DataDev Ambassador, where he helps guide conversations about extensibility, performance, and emerging AI technologies.

Celia Fryar, Training and Enablement Lead, contributes as a Tableau Academic Ambassador. She connects academic learning with real-world analytics skills and helps make complex topics more approachable without sacrificing depth.

XeoMatrix’s leadership in ambassador programs extends back years. Previously, Chris Monahon, President, served as a Tableau Ambassador. Through that role, he reinforced a long-standing commitment to mentorship and collaboration within the community.

Supporting Tableau User Groups Around the World

Tableau User Groups create space for experimentation, discussion, and shared problem-solving. Rather than simply attending events, XeoMatrix team members help lead and shape these communities. In turn, they strengthen local and global connections across the Tableau ecosystem.

DataDev Tableau User Group

The Global DataDev Tableau User Group brings together developers and advanced users who want to push Tableau’s technical boundaries. As a co-lead, Cristian Saavedra guides conversations around APIs, integrations, and scalable analytics workflows. In addition, he contributes as a speaker and thought leader while welcoming new members with challenge exercises that help participants build competency and confidence.

Austin Tableau User Group

The Austin Tableau User Group remains a cornerstone of the regional analytics community. Chris Monahon and Celia Fryar serve on the Advisory Council and act as co-leads, helping shape programming and engagement. At the same time, XeoMatrix supports the group as its sole sponsor, helping maintain accessible spaces for learning and collaboration.

San Francisco Tableau User Group

In addition, Celia Fryar co-leads the San Francisco Tableau User Group. She supports a growing network of analytics professionals in one of the world’s most active technology communities. The University of San Francisco also sponsors this TUG, which helps connect industry practitioners with academic perspectives.

Charleston Tableau User Group

Meanwhile, Lauren Cristaldi, Manager of Data Analytics, co-leads the Charleston Tableau User Group. She helps create opportunities for local professionals to exchange ideas, reimagine the art of the possible, and explore emerging analytics best practices together.

Hosting the Data-Driven Community

In addition to supporting external Tableau initiatives, XeoMatrix also creates its own space for collaboration through the Data‑Driven Community events. These monthly webinars and virtual events bring together data professionals who want to explore analytics beyond day-to-day dashboard work.

Each session focuses on practical topics such as data strategy, dashboard design, embedded analytics, BI modernization, and cloud migration. In many cases, the team selects these topics directly from client questions and project requests, ensuring the discussions reflect real challenges organizations face. Rather than presenting theory alone, the team shares real workflows, lessons learned, and actionable ideas that participants can apply immediately. As a result, the events encourage continuous learning while strengthening connections across the broader analytics ecosystem.

The Data-Driven Community also reflects XeoMatrix’s approach to education. Over time, these conversations create a consistent rhythm of knowledge sharing that extends beyond individual projects and into long-term community growth.

Why Community Matters to XeoMatrix

Participation in the Tableau Community creates a two-way exchange. Team members share expertise while also learning from diverse perspectives, new use cases, and real-world challenges. As a result, these interactions influence how XeoMatrix designs analytics solutions.

Conversations about governance, performance, accessibility, and data storytelling often begin in community spaces. Over time, those ideas shape broader industry practices. By staying actively involved, XeoMatrix remains connected to how people actually use Tableau, not just how it is designed to work in theory. You can explore more perspectives like this in the XeoMatrix blog library, where the team shares insights on analytics strategy, design, and evolving Tableau practices.

Looking Ahead

As Tableau continues to evolve, community leadership becomes even more important. Ambassador programs, user group participation, and collaborative learning help keep innovation grounded in practical experience. More importantly, these efforts encourage a culture of openness and shared growth.

Through continued involvement across multiple initiatives, XeoMatrix supports a community where practitioners share ideas freely, test new approaches, and move analytics forward together.
